Job Summary

NLNG is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant General Surgeon to join its Corporate Medical Services team. The successful candidate will provide specialist surgical and medical care, support emergency medical response activities, drive clinical excellence, and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of employees and their dependants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient surgical care.
  • Deliver general and family medical services to employees and their dependants.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including minimal access surgeries and upper/lower gastrointestinal endoscopies.
  • Support obstetric surgical procedures when required.
  • Participate in emergency medical response activities and occupational health initiatives.
  • Develop, review, and implement clinical policies, procedures, and best-practice protocols.
  • Monitor healthcare performance indicators and support clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) objectives and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Education & Professional Qualifications
  • MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
    Postgraduate Fellowship in Surgery (FWACS, FMCS, FRCS, FACS, or equivalent).
  • Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Valid and current practicing licence.

Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years post-MBBS experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience practicing as a surgeon.
  • Demonstrated competence in endoscopic procedures.
  • Certified training in minimal access surgery is an added advantage.
