Job Overview

Kiyix Recruitment Hub is recruiting an Accountant for an organisation operating in the pharmaceutical and retail industry. The position is based in Ebute Meta, Lagos.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling daily sales and payment transactions, monitoring revenue and expenses, and preparing financial reports.

The role also involves monitoring accounts payable and receivable, preparing payroll schedules, supporting statutory deductions and ensuring proper documentation of financial transactions.

Candidates should have between 2 and 3 years of relevant accounting experience, good knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Experience in pharmacy, retail or fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) accounting will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Records and Accounting

1. Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions.
2. Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
3. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and financial regulations.
4. Monitor financial discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

2. Sales and Revenue Reconciliation

1. Reconcile daily sales, Point of Sale (POS) transactions and cash collections.
2. Monitor sales revenue and ensure accurate financial records.
3. Review bank transactions and identify discrepancies.
4. Monitor cash flow and track financial movements.

3. Financial Reporting and Monitoring

1. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports.
2. Monitor business expenses and financial performance.
3. Track accounts payable and accounts receivable.
4. Provide accurate financial information to support business operations.

4. Payroll and Statutory Deductions

1. Prepare payroll schedules.
2. Assist with the calculation and processing of applicable statutory deductions.
3. Maintain relevant payroll and financial documentation.

Requirements and Qualifications

Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
2. Between 2 and 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
3. Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
5. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
6. Excellent organisational and record keeping abilities.
7. High levels of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
