Key Responsibilities
- Organise the inventory, storage, and distribution of food items and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor food stock levels and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Control portion costs by calculating the number of portions obtainable from each food batch.
- Maintain safe and hygienic conditions in the kitchen.
- Support menu planning and ensure efficient use of ingredients and food surpluses.
- Coordinate kitchen staff and supervise daily activities.
- Supervise cooks and monitor food preparation processes.
- Inspect food through its appearance, smell, and taste to ensure compliance with recipes and quality standards.
- Oversee the cleaning of kitchen equipment and ensure that the kitchen remains organised.
- Monitor food preparation, pantry, and storeroom activities.
Requirements
Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:
- HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent qualification.
- Commercial cooking experience, preferably in a restaurant or hotel.
- Basic literacy skills.
- Ability to multitask and coordinate several kitchen activities.
- Creativity and a customer oriented approach.
- Ability to supervise kitchen personnel and coordinate daily operations.
Additional Advantages:
- Vocational training in catering will be an added advantage but is not compulsory.
- Previous management or supervisory experience will be an added advantage.
Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in Ikeja or be able to work at the Ikeja branch in Lagos.
