About the Role

Access Bank Plc is seeking an experienced and results-driven Relationship Manager to join its Corporate & Investment Banking Division (CIBD). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing corporate client relationships, driving business growth, structuring financial solutions, and ensuring excellent service delivery while maintaining sound risk management practices.
This role is ideal for banking professionals with strong credit analysis, relationship management, and business development expertise who are passionate about delivering value to clients and contributing to the bank’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new corporate banking customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Plan, execute, and report on marketing and business development activities.
  • Structure credit facilities to meet client needs and prepare credit proposals for approval.
  • Monitor customer compliance with approved credit agreements and facility terms.
  • Present and defend credit proposals before the Credit Committee.
  • Negotiate credit and foreign exchange pricing within approved limits to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor portfolio performance against monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets.
  • Prepare profitability reports, budgets, and business performance updates.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and on-the-job training to Account Officers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored financial solutions to clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sub-Sector Head.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ banking experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • A Master’s degree and/or professional certification will be an added advantage.
  • Strong credit analysis and commercial lending experience.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, loan structuring, and industry analysis.
  • Understanding of credit approval processes and risk management principles.
  • Excellent client relationship management and business development skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of treasury services products is an added advantage.
