Key Responsibilities

The Customs Clearing Executive will be responsible for the following:

1. Ensure compliance with Nigerian customs regulations, port procedures, and company policies.
2. Coordinate import and export customs declarations, duty assessments, cargo examinations, and release procedures.
3. Prepare and process customs clearance documentation for import and export shipments.
4. Verify shipping documents, commercial invoices, packing lists, permits, and other required clearance documents.
5. Track shipments and resolve clearance delays, documentation discrepancies, and related operational challenges.
6. Liaise with licensed customs agents, the Nigeria Customs Service, shipping lines, port terminals, and relevant regulatory agencies.
7. Coordinate cargo collection, release, and handover to haulage teams.
8. Monitor customs duties, port charges, demurrage, detention, and other cargo clearance expenses.
9. Maintain accurate shipment records and provide regular updates on clearance status.
10. Identify and address operational issues that could affect timely cargo release.

Requirements and Qualifications

Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

1. A BSc or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Four to six years of relevant experience in customs clearing, shipping, or freight forwarding.
3. Strong knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, import and export documentation, and port operations.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
5. Excellent documentation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple shipments and work effectively under tight deadlines.
7. Ability to coordinate with different stakeholders, including customs agents, shipping lines, and regulatory agencies.
8. Relevant customs or logistics certification will be an added advantage.

Salary and Employment Benefits

The monthly salary for this position ranges from ₦500,000 to ₦700,000.
