Key Responsibilities

The Chief General Manager, Mechanical will be responsible for the following duties:

• Mechanical maintenance management: Oversee the maintenance, repair and replacement of plant machinery, mechanical equipment and associated systems to support continuous and efficient production.
• Cost optimisation: Develop and implement strategies to reduce manufacturing and maintenance costs through effective management of labour, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.
• Production efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve plant performance and align production processes and equipment with established improvement plans.
• Plant performance monitoring: Track operational performance using appropriate measurements, benchmarks and company performance indicators to identify areas requiring improvement.
• Production target achievement: Monitor production volumes, raw material consumption, energy and fuel usage, and equipment utilisation to ensure alignment with production, delivery and profitability targets.
• Quality assurance: Implement and maintain production procedures that support consistent product quality and compliance with company standards.
• Workplace safety: Promote a safe working environment by establishing appropriate safety procedures and ensuring that employees and contractors comply with workplace safety requirements.
• Policy development: Establish and enforce policies governing production methods, mechanical maintenance, quality control and operational safety.
• Operational leadership: Collaborate with plant management and other relevant departments to achieve organisational objectives and undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Plant Director.

Qualifications and Experience
